This semester I have progressed and learned a lot about Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. I feel more comfortable with my skills on a computer in general. But, if ever needed to design something for a company, I feel I could accomplish it. In these last few weeks I hope to keep progressing forward and continue to increase my skills. InDesign is still a little challenging for me, Im not 100% comfortable with it yet, but it just takes time! But I feel really comfortable with Adobe Photoshop. I really enjoy it! I havn't really thought much on what I want to do on my final project, but maybe a collage or another panorama. I continue looking forward to learning more things to increase my knowledge on all digital design aspects.

A Logo Website that I found was called "The Logo Website." The website is http://www.thelogofactory.com/. This wesites contains all sorts of helpful tips and tactics! On this website you can create a logo with the company, create your own or have them create your logo! It has logo examples that you can look at, or logo design workshops to explore! It also tells you what types of logos are selling well, compared to other ones. Theres all sorts of videos such as logo galleries, that give you tips on logo design. Finally it has the logo "golden rules" of logo design, which is helpful because it shows you what you need in your logo to make it great.

After reveiwing the 13 steps, I found that all of them are needed in taking digital photos. But, there were a few steps that stuck out the most. First of all, the first two steps of experimenting and checking your background are important. Great photos aren't just going to be the first ones you take, so you need to reveiw all the pictures you've taken. Also, the background is important. It may be the first thing that catches the veiwers' eye, if its something like a horizon, or sunset, so it needs to look good and not contrast the main veiw. Next, in the third and fourth step, it shows you how to hold your camera. In instances as making a panorama, you need to have a steady hand in holding the camera. A sudden movement could affect the way pictures match together. The eight and ninth steps cover points of interest and rule of thirds which are important tactics in digital photography. Finally, the twelth and thirteenth rules on different modes and exposure settings are also important. The photographer needs to know what setting to use for each picture. Not every shot should have the same setting. The setting of a picture can make or break it! After reveiwing these steps, it definately increased my knowledge of how to make great pictures!! This site was very helpful.

For this assignment on logos, I chose to use two cereal boxes. First of all the box that I did not like was the Rice chex box. This box was not very colorful, therefore it did not catch my eye. The colors in logos are always helpful in selling the product. The more flashy the box, the better it sells!

The next box I chose was the Lucky Charms cereal box. I really enjoyed the bright colors. Also, the leprechaun is very eye-catching. Anything with a animal, or something of that sort is nice, because people will remember that "trademark." The bright swirly rainbow is cool too, and the marshmellows of all shapes, colors and sizes help to catch the buyers eye!

Exploring photoshop.com was very interesting! I liked how the home page had three things you could do, "My library," "My Albums," or you could browse! There were some really great photos on there, and it was really cool how you could choose how you wanted to present the pictures. Also, on the left-hand side there are links to other sites such as Flickr, Facebook, Photobucket and Picasa. At the top of the page, towards the middle there is a slider that controls the zoom. This is cool because you can veiw 18 pictures at once, or zoom into only showing one. You can also choose to veiw the pictures as a slide-show, which is cool! Finally, I liked how you could veiw the photos by name, date, quanity and sort!

For my movie poster, I did the movie, Semi-Pro. I chose this movie because I thought it would be funny! I used two of my friends, Molly, Avery and myself. I changed the name to Semi-Amature, rather than Semi-Pro. I had fun doing this project!

For my Photoshop Interveiw Project, I interveiwed Lance Classen at Stadium Sports. Stadium Sports does all the surrounding schools sports T-shirt designs, or jerseys. Stadium does not actually do their own designs. Two companies in Lincoln do their actual printing. Stadium is the "go between" between those who need the designs and the printing companies. But they still gave me useful advice. The first piece of advice was to stay on task, and don't fall behind. Work there piles up fast! Secondly, you do not need any artistic ability really, just creativity. Finally, you need to have a large selection of templates of designs for the customers to choose from. The more options they have to choose from, the better!

My first photo was taken by someone on Flickr. I picked this photo because of my interests in sports. Passion best describes this picture because you need true passion in a sport to succeed to your fullest potential. To create this image I first went to Image, Adjustments, Desaturate. That took away the color of the image. Next I used the eraser tool to add the color back to the two blockers at the net, and the opponets numbers. Finally, I added the text "Passion..." to decribe my photo.

M second photo was taken by a parent, after Prom mass in '08. This picture best describes inspiration because, my friends inspire me each and everyday. They are always there for me, in good times and in bad. My first step in creating this photo was to go to Image, Adjusments, Desaturate. Like in the first photo, this took away the color. Next, I used the eraser tool to add back the color in us four girls, and the brick walls of the church in the background. This gave it a more "eye-popping" look. Finally, I used the Text tool to add the "*BAMM..." BAMM stands for the first letter in our names. (Brittany, Avery, McKenzie, Molly) I corresponded the color of our dress, or outfit to the letters. Since Brittany's dress was pink the B was pink as well, and so on and so forth.

Itunes has a great sellection of podcasts to veiw on the web. I watched a podcasts called "Zoomify" by Richard Harrington. In this, I learned how to take a high resolution images, and break them down into an interactive image. Also, it tells you the different affects background colors will have on the photo. There are many different qualities that you can have in a photo, "Zoomify" helps you choose a quality that will best suit your picture. Its just 3 easy steps File, Export, Zoomify! I encourage those who have great photo "making" ability to take it to the next level, by using Zoomify

I enjoyed the great photos on Apple. Its a very easy access website to find great ideas from different photos. Also, I like to see the other photos to give me ideas of different things I can do, besides photos. Finally, searching the gallery is fun! It will come in handy!
